Emmanuel
Emmanuel Immanuel (or Emmanuel or Imanu’el), Hebrew meaning ”God is with us”)
Founder and lifelong member of Kirkwood Hospice David N Stocks has recently pledged his support for our Capital Appeal by sponsoring a brick to be laid in the new footpath in the grounds of the hospice.
Whilst considering his personal inscription on the brick, David thought that ‘Emmanuel’ would be the most relevant, reminding him of the church that he used to attend with his Dad, the very definition of Emmanuel is that ”God is with us”.
Emmanuel was also originally one of the proposed names for the Hospice 25 years ago.
David thought that this inscription would be especially relevant to the hospice as Good is indeed with us at every stage of our life.
When David’s dad sadly died of cancer in 1973, it was his passing that inspired David to get involved in the hospice movement. He is still involved to this day.
Kirkwood Hospice is building a future of care for Kirklees and like David; you too can help us to take the first steps by sponsoring a brick in the path in the grounds of the new hospice.
Sponsor a brick and create your own personal inscription, leave a lasting impression and show messages of support to our patients.
